TPA Still Admired After All These Years

Condé Nast readers vote TPA Second Best U.S. Airport TAMPA, FL (September 29, 2008) -- The October 2008 Condé Nast Traveler issue has announced its Eleventh Annual Business Travel Awards for airports, airlines and hotels. The prestigious poll awarded Tampa International Airport as the Second Best U.S. Airport – just two-tenths of a point behind the number one, Portland International Airport. TPA was ranked highest of all 10 U.S. airports in the categories of Ease of Connections and Comfort/Design. Other categories included: location/access, customs and baggage, food/shops/amenities and perceived safety/security.
“This world class recognition confirms that Tampa International Airport remains positioned as a vital economic resource for the Tampa Bay community,” stated Louis E. Miller, Executive Director, Tampa International Airport. “We never take prominent awards and recognition for granted.”
The independent firm asked more than 26,500 Condé Nast Traveler readers identified as business travelers to rank U.S. and International airports, hotels and airlines. More than 2,500 surveys were completed, returned and tabulated.
